Kathleen Scott Spiritual Music Composer, Singer and Voice Teacher

Kathleen Scott started her professional singing career at age 16, singing with big-band jazz and blues ensembles, and in an a capella jazz vocal group.  She attended the Universities of Texas in El Paso and Austin, Texas, completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music and languages.

Rev. Scott garnered many awards in major vocal competitions during her 25-year career in classical music and opera, residing for 8 years in New York City and touring extensively in the US, Europe and Mexico.  Upon moving to Southern California, she taught vocal and repertoire studies privately and began a new career, earning her ministerial license and serving as Assistant Minister at the Center for Spiritual Discovery in Costa Mesa, California for 6 years.  She then moved to Visalia, California, where she has served as the Pastor of the Spiritual Awareness Center for the past 11 years.

During her time in the ministry, she has composed many songs reflecting the teachings of Ernest Holmes and the ministry he founded.  Her compositions are used as inspirational messages as she teaches the philosophy of Ernest Holmes.

She has released four CD recordings of original songs written in popular styles, and two songbooks containing material for use in spiritual centers.  Her most recent release is entitled Heartsongs and contains 13 original songs for congregational use.  Prior recordings are entitled Lifted Up!, Let Peace Reign!, and Echoes of the Heart (which also has a songbook by the same name).
